🥪 Air Fryer Egg, Ham & Cheese Toast

 

Ingredients (per toast):

  • 1 slice bread (thick-cut works best)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 slice ham (or chopped ham)

  • Cheese of choice (or skip if needed)

  • Butter or oil spray

  • Salt & pepper

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Prep the bread
    Lightly butter one side of the bread.
    Press the center of the bread down with a spoon or glass to make a little well.

  2. Add fillings
    Place bread in the air fryer basket.
    Add ham into the well.
    Crack the egg right on top.
    Sprinkle with salt & pepper.

  3. Air fry

    • 180°C / 350°F for 6–8 minutes

    • Check at 6 minutes:

      • 6 min = runnier yolk

      • 7–8 min = firmer yolk

  4. Add cheese
    Sprinkle cheese on top and air fry 1–2 more minutes, just until melted.

  5. Serve
    Carefully remove (the yolk can still be soft). Eat as-is or top with chilli flakes or a little mustard.

💡 Tips:

  • If the egg threatens to spill: crack it into a cup first, then pour slowly.

  • Thick bread = less soggy middle.

  • Works great with English muffins or sourdough.

  • Want extra crispy? Toast the bread alone for 2 minutes first, then add toppings.
