Air Fryer Toast and Eggs
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 6–10 minutes
Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 2 slices of thick bread
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened (or olive oil)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings:
- Shredded cheese
- Chopped parsley or chives
- Red pepper flakes
- Sliced avocado
- Cooked bacon or ham
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 2–3 minutes.
- Lightly butter both sides of the bread.
- Using the back of a spoon, gently press the center of each slice to make a shallow well.
- Place the bread in the air fryer basket.
- Carefully crack one egg into the center of each slice.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add cheese if you’d like.
- Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 6–8 minutes for a runnier yolk or 8–10 minutes for a firmer yolk.
- Remove carefully, garnish with herbs, and serve immediately.
Tips
- Use thick-cut bread so the egg stays in place.
- If your eggs are large, crack them into a small bowl first and pour them gently into the bread.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket—cook in batches if needed.
- Air fryer cooking times vary slightly by model, so check the eggs during the last couple of minutes.
This breakfast pairs well with fresh fruit, avocado, or a side of crispy air-fried hash browns.
