Crispy Air Fryer Flaky Fish 🐟✨

Golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside—this easy air fryer fish recipe is ready in under 20 minutes and is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 white fish fillets (cod, haddock, tilapia, or pollock), about 5–6 oz each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Pat the fish dry with paper towels and lightly brush each fillet with oil.
  3. In one shallow bowl, beat the eggs. In another, combine the panko, Parmesan, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each fillet into the egg, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently so it sticks.
  5. Place the fish in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each fillet. Spray lightly with cooking oil for extra crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 10–14 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the coating is golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork. Fish is safely cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  7. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.

Tips

  • Frozen fish can be used—thaw completely and pat dry before breading.
  • Avoid overcrowding the basket for the crispiest results.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets and your air fryer model.
  • Pair with air-fried vegetables, roasted potatoes, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
