🍔 Hamburgers in the Air Fryer
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10–12 minutes
Total Time: 20–25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef, preferably 80/20
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices cheese (optional)
- Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and your favorite sauces
Instructions
- Make the patties: Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape into patties about 1–1½ cm thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for 3 minutes.
- Place the patties in the basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 5–6 minutes.
- Flip and cook for another 5–6 minutes, or until cooked to your preferred doneness. For food safety, ground beef should reach 71°C (160°F) internally.
- Add cheese during the final 1–2 minutes if making cheeseburgers.
- Remove the patties and let them rest for 2–3 minutes.
- Toast the buns in the air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for about 1–2 minutes.
- Assemble with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
🔥 Tips for Juicy Burgers
- Don’t overwork the ground beef when forming the patties.
- A little fat in the beef makes a much juicier burger.
- Make the patties slightly wider than the buns because they shrink during cooking.
- Don’t press down on the burgers while they’re cooking—you’ll squeeze out the juices.
- Cooking times vary with patty thickness and air fryer model, so use a meat thermometer for the most reliable result.
Easy topping combo: melted cheddar + lettuce + tomato + red onion + pickles + burger sauce. 🍔
