Ingredients
- 4 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 4 slices deli ham
- 4 slices cheddar, Swiss, provolone, or American cheese
- 2 tablespoons softened butter (or mayonnaise for extra crispiness)
- Optional: Dijon mustard or honey mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Spread butter (or mayonnaise) evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Place two slices of bread butter-side down.
- Add 2 slices of cheese, the ham, and another slice of cheese.
- Top with the remaining bread slices butter-side up.
- Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket in a single layer. If needed, secure the top slice with a toothpick to keep it from lifting.
- Air fry at 370°F (190°C) for 4–5 minutes.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3–4 minutes, until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 1–2 minutes before slicing and serving.
