Making hard-boiled eggs in the air fryer is easy, hands-off, and perfect for meal prep. No boiling water required!

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • Ice
  • Cold water

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs directly into the air fryer basket. Keep them in a single layer.
  2. Set the air fryer to 270°F (130°C).
  3. Cook for 15–17 minutes for fully cooked, firm yolks.
  4. While the eggs cook, prepare a bowl of ice water.
  5. Carefully transfer the cooked eggs to the ice bath immediately.
  6. Let them sit for 5–10 minutes.
  7. Gently tap the shells all over and peel under cool running water.
  8. Slice and enjoy!

⏱️ Adjust the Cooking Time

  • 13–14 minutes: Slightly softer yolk
  • 15–17 minutes: Firm, hard-boiled yolk
  • 18 minutes: Very firm yolk

Air fryers vary, so you may need to adjust the time by a minute or two.

Tips for Easy Peeling

  • Use eggs that aren’t extremely fresh if possible.
  • The ice bath is important because it stops the cooking and helps separate the shell from the egg.
  • Crack the shell gently all over before peeling.
  • Peel from the larger end, where there is usually an air pocket.
