Chicken Breasts with Lemon & Herbs in an Air Fryer
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 14–18 minutes
Total Time: 25–30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1½ tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Flatten the chicken: If the breasts are very thick, gently pound them to an even thickness. This helps them cook evenly.
- Make the marinade: Combine olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the chicken: Rub the mixture all over the chicken breasts. For extra flavor, let them sit for 15–30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for 3–5 minutes.
- Place the chicken breasts in the basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 7–9 minutes, then flip.
- Cook for another 7–9 minutes, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
- Remove and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with fresh lemon wedges.
🍋 For Extra Juicy Chicken
The most important trick is not overcooking it. Start checking the temperature toward the lower end of the cooking time, especially if your chicken breasts are small.
Serving Ideas
- Air fryer crispy potatoes
- Rice or couscous
- Roasted vegetables
- Fresh green salad
- Steamed broccoli
- Creamy garlic sauce
Tip: Don’t add too much lemon juice or marinate the chicken for hours—the acidity can affect the texture. A short 15–30 minute marinade gives you plenty of lemon-herb flavor
